Deadline Imminent – Suppliers Get Involved – Meet the Buyers – Marine sector

Suppliers get involved – UKTI / BMF Meet the Buyer has gone from strength to strength and is now back for its 13th consecutive year. 

The event is designed to be a showcase of innovation to aid buyers and suppliers of marine equipment to network in one place, saving on travel costs and time out of the office.

In January 2012 seventeen buyers, representing a mixture of shipyards and distributors, from as far afield as Dubai, France, Germany, Finland and Italy attended the UKTI Meet the Buyer, meeting 60 UK supplier companies. In all there were 425 pre arranged meetings.

The cost for attending the event is £125 ex vat for BMF members and £165 ex vat for non members. For this price Suppliers can meet with as many Buyers as they wish as long as the schedule allows and meetings are allocated on a first come, first served basis. The event is ONLY open to UK marine equipment and service companies.

Cabinet office reveals £84bn procurement pipelines

The government has unveiled details of future projects and contracts in a bid to help business plan ahead, including a multi-billion pound professional services workstream.

With four new industry sectors added to the procurement pipelines, the value of available opportunities up to 2014/2015 now stands at £84bn.

German’s photovoltaic in the UK

I recently had the chance to present alongside a specialist from the Department of Energy and Climate Change from the British Government as well as a specialist from the Renewable Energy Association.
A great little event where we presented to a delegation of businesses and trade association specialising in Solar energy coming from Berlin.
The Germans are very well developed in the solar panel field.

The UK is not that bad

I should know, I do not feel homesick at all. Actually I very often feel lucky to be on this side of the English Channel…In terms of procurement the UK is a shining light in more areas than one compared to the other European Union Countries.
